In-House Vocational Training Project
Funded
and COMPLETE
From haircuts to hammers, the staff at GFI is constantly trying
to prepare students graduating with skills for the future.
The
staff at GFI finished creating a hair styling station/room last
fall. It is all brand new and sparkles with mirrors, tile, etc.
The barber chair is ready for business! Now, they must find funding
for scissors, clippers, a teacher etc. to begin teaching those
interested in hair styling. The kids can use this skill when they
graduate and to help the other students look good.
Hold still for our stylers, please! Over the holidays at GFI,
the older students were learning and practicing their hair cutting
and styling skills, as seen in the pictures. This is a life skill
for them, and our project is sending them a few tools and supplies
to augment the improvements made by the Internat. You can see
what a nice little room it is becoming. Looks very professional!
What fun, being the first volunteers there! May be risky too!
